Short Synopsis:
In a small village in the heart of Sardinia, during a terrible invasion of locusts that are devouring everything, a farmer has to come to terms with the passing of the baton, from father to son, for the management of the sheepfold.
Born in Cagliari, Sardinia (Italy) in 1978, Francesco Piras is a director, cinematographer and photographer. He has worked for years in the world of advertising for brands such as BMW, Rolls Royce, Bugatti. He directed the photography of numerous short films, documentaries and films including "Bentu" by Salvatore Mereu, in competition in the Giornate degli Autori 2022. he directed the short film "Il Nostro Concerto", which received national and international recognition including the nomination for the David di Donatello Award in 2019. In 2021 he wrote and directed the short film “Mammarranca”, officially selected at the Nastri d’Argento 2023 and winner of the Rai Cinema Channel award. “Tilipirche (Grasshoppers)”, his most recent short film, has its World Premiere at Sic@Sic - Venice International Film Critics’ Week.
