Short synopsis:
Based on the classic masterpiece by Alexandros Papadiamantis, “MURDERESS” takes place on a remote island in Greece, around 1900. Hadoula, who lost her husband at a young age is a woman who has learned to survive in an extremely patriarchal society.

But Hadoula reacts. Her personal, internal, bubbling revolution is soon externalized. The victims of her outburst are the little girls of the island, which she sets free from the social and economic burden that their existence entails… by taking their lives. Her actions will bring her face-to-face with the authorities.

Film Director: Eva Nathena

Eva Nathena was born in Crete. She studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts. She worked as an assistant to set designer Dionysis Fotopoulos and then she went on to work with stage and film directors such as Costa Gavras and Pantelis Voulgaris. She was three times awarded the State Prize for Costume Design.
